The particular location of the Park that goes down to the most remote depths of the abyss and then comes up again; the many paths that wind their way up immersed in a luxuriant vegetation; the several flight of stairs that connect the terraces and the caverns; the ground sometimes rocky and slippery, make the tour in Villa Gregoriana very difficult. In order to face the challenge in the best way, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes with rubber soles to guarantee a better grip to the ground and avoid slipping. It is also dangerous to lean out from the railings too much (whether they are masonry or wooden); parents have always to keep an eye on their children in order to prevent tragic falls, and they have to prevent them from throwing stones down to the below paths or to the clearing, because they could possibly hurt passing visitors.

It would be a good idea to bring a bottle of water to drink if the temperature is too high. Considered that the tour lasts about 90 minutes, it is necessary to know that toilets are only located at the two entrances/exits on Piazza Massimo and Piazza Tempio di Vesta. In the eventuality of somebody getting sick or finding oneself in an emergency situation, he/she can go to one of the three SOS points located along the main itinerary. Nature has to be respected and protected, that’s why it’s necessary to observe it with admiration, without destroying the plants and without taking little branches and inflorescences with the aim to bring them home as souvenirs.

Walking into the tunnels we have to be careful not to hit our heads against overhanging rocks; we have to keep our dogs on the leads so that they do not bother visitors and, to respect the law and also to show good manners, it would be appropriate for us to be equipped with the necessary material to eventually pick up our dog-droppings.
